Is Billy Bob Thornton crazy?

I've been on all sides of the media shuffle: I've been interviewed, I've been an interviewer and I've been the publicist trying to keep the situation from ending in tears.

And all I can say is, "What the hell is wrong with Billy Bob Thornton?" This clip, broadcast on Canada's Q TV, reminds me of why I never, ever want to go back to working in public relations.

And why I'm happy I'm not one of the Boxmasters, the band with whom Thornton plays.

Nice shout out to the classic monster-movie magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland and the late, great Forrest J Ackerman, though.

...I understand Mr. Thornton being upset because he had asked that his acting career not be mentioned, but once that cat was out of the bag I think he should have tried to be civil about it, out of respect for his bandmates; I hope they drop him...

I'm not really sure what that was. I am a big fan of Billy Bob Thornton, but I was dumbfounded when I saw that. It's really weird because I am watching the remake of "Bad News Bears", which Thornton plays in, and I decide to go on MissFlickChick on my laptop and I saw this article.

What was with the magazine and something about a train when the radio guy asked him about his musical influences? It was like he was on drugs or something. I didn't even think this video was real at first.

Here's my feeling about Thornton. I'm a fan. To this day, when I think about the original B&W, short version of Slingblade I get chills.

But the fact is that if you're a movie star who also plays in a band, telling interviewers (or their producers) that it's not kosher to mention that you're a movie star who's in a band is egocentric power playing.

Obviously, he was still quite disturbed over 4Sj's recent demise, and distraught over having lost the magazine contest.
