But there was never a moment when I wondered what was coming next or thought, "Damn! I can't believe they did that!"

Granted, it's really hard to knock an audience on its collective ass with a remake, because they come in with a least some idea what to expect.

But for me that's less a reason to cut the new Nightmare on Elm Street some slack that a reason to say for the umpteenth time that any original idea -- like, say, The Human Centipede -- is better than just about any remake.

I didn't love Human Centipede, but it sure as hell got my attention by being monstrous in a way I honestly can't claim to have seen before.

And I've seen plenty...miss flickchickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16494437096298634254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5264186707416192943.post-76286745793291282442010-05-05T12:03:59.073-07:002010-05-05T12:03:59.073-07:00Maitland, I would appreciate a little more info on...Maitland, I would appreciate a little more info on what you did not like about the new Elm Street movie. Can you compare the "horror" of this modern version to the original?

For example, the famous bedroom scene was pretty prefect in the original. I will never forget it. Do they attempt that scene in the remake? If so, I assume CGI... did it work?achyfakeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15989627337802646906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5264186707416192943.post-53677503195475792002010-05-04T18:06:55.202-07:002010-05-04T18:06:55.202-07:00I wasn't sure if I wanted to see The Human Cen...I wasn't sure if I wanted to see The Human Centipede until I read your description of Dieter Laser as "the bastard offspring of Udo Kier and Christopher Walken." What more could I ask for in a film?CRYPTORAMAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05088430220806733260noreply@blogger.com
