Terminator Salvation... Not!

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth, just off my own site thanks to, yes, the dreaded technical difficulties.

But I'm finally back, and my review of the hugely disappointing Terminator Salvation is now live.

And not to revel in the misfortunes of others, but I'm glad it's tanking. Terminator 3 isn't a great movie, but it didn't damned near bore me to tears.

And now The Sarah Connor Chronicles is gone too...

OK, here's my problem with T3 and T4... I am just not interested in the storyline once Judgment Day happens. For me, the real story is humans struggling to stop the day that machines take over.

Once that is no longer an alternate future, but THE future, the story is just an action set piece. There is no sense of urgency in stopping this terrible event from happening. From stopping the worst aspects of humanity from taking over.

Allowing Judgment Day to come goes against the heart of the first two flicks: there is not fate but the one we make.

T1 and T2 are hopeful at their core. T3 and T4 are cynical by nature. I don't want to pay money to endure the latter.

I can't stop myself from watching this movie whenever I got a chance to watch it on television. I love the whole series so much that I can watch them again and again.
